When he was 31 Joe Bernstein’s former wife asked him for a divorce and that’s when Joe realized he was really unhappy. He set about taking responsibility for his life, lost 150 pounds and stopped living his life through a lens of fear.

Now he helps others do the same. He coaches people, mostly men, going through transitions like divorce and custody battles. Many people resist or try to sabotage the process of divorce because they’re not ready to face it. Joe helps them realize that this transition is an opportunity to paint a vision for their life and make the changes they need to thrive.

A byproduct of his work is that it makes many lawyers’ lives a lot easier because they’re able to work with clients who are motivated to move forward rather than argue over small issues.

Sam Mollaei started off as an employment lawyer. Then he read The 4-Hour Workweek and realized there was another way to leverage his expertise. He created a virtual law firm which has been so successful it has generated over 1000 Google reviews and made him the first lawyer to be a member of the ClickFunnels 2CommaClub ($1 million generated with a funnel).

At the heart of Sam’s business is an automated, dependable system of bringing in and serving clients. He also subscribes to the principles of making decisions based on where you want your business to be, not where it is, and the 80/20 rule.

Marco Brown is a frequent lecturer on the process of getting paid as attorneys — and, as I’m sure most of you know all too well, getting paid on a timely basis and paid the full value of your services is a huge problem for solo and small firm practitioners.

We also discuss Marco’s transition from an insurance defense attorney to a solo practitioner, and how he was able to grow his firm to a small firm with five attorneys (spoiler: it’s in part because he was able to get paid!).
